CURRICULUM
MusicMusic Curriculum Ambition: National
Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity. Our music curriculum endeavours to engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and enhance their talent as musicians, increasing their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. – As pupils progress through the curriculum, they develop a critical engagement with music, allowing them to compose, and to listen with discrimination to the best in the musical canon.
Music Curriculum Ambition: Stafford

Pupils in Year 4 learn to play the recorder and Year 5 the ukulele. Pupils are given the opportunity to play and perform in solo and ensemble contexts, using their voices and playing musical instruments with increasing accuracy, fluency, control and expression Pupils are exposed to a wide range of high-quality live and recorded music drawn from different traditions and from great composers and musicians and develop an understanding of the history of music.
Our Vision: Be The Best We Can Be
We want our pupils to be confident, independent, high achieving learners who are prepared for the next stage of their education and can fully participate as global citizens.
We will achieve this by a commitment to providing an inclusive, safe and inspirational teaching and learning environment that promotes high expectations of all pupils.
We support one another to overcome challenges with confidence and resilience, showing respect for ourselves and each other. We celebrate hard work and effort and our successes are shared because we know that together we can achieve more.
