Modern Foreign Languages

MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES CURRICULUM AMBITION: NATIONAL

Learning a foreign language provides an opening to other cultures. Our Modern Foreign Language curriculum foster pupils’ curiosity and deepens their understanding of the world. The curriculum enables pupils to express their ideas and thoughts in another language and to understand and respond to its speakers, both in speech and in writing.

MODERN FOREIGN LANGUAGES CURRICULUM AMBITION: FEDERATION

At Stafford pupils learn Spanish focussing on enabling pupils to make substantial progress in one language. The curriculum provides a balance of spoken and written language and lays the foundations for further foreign language teaching at key stage 3.

The curriculum enables pupils to understand and communicate ideas, facts and feelings in speech and writing, focused on familiar and routine matters, using their knowledge of phonology, grammatical structures and vocabulary.

Our Vision: Be The Best We Can Be

We want our pupils to be confident, independent, high achieving learners who are prepared for the next stage of their education and can fully participate as global citizens.

We will achieve this by a commitment to providing an inclusive, safe and inspirational teaching and learning environment that promotes high expectations of all pupils.

We support one another to overcome challenges with confidence and resilience, showing respect for ourselves and each other. We celebrate hard work and effort and our successes are shared because we know that together we can achieve more.
